I am finished writing. I have line editing to do and the last story I wrote — The Preminger Curse — has to go out to some beta readers. I think it’s the best story in the collection, but what the hell do I know? It came in at a whopping 20,703 words. I took off work, I stopped exercising, I gave it everything I had. My friend Jaimie Lee is coming to visit me on the 17th, so I’ll get a chance for a live reading. I’m sure that will be helpful for final touch-ups.
Oh, and I still have to make a map of the house. So, there’s still stuff to do, but I just finished the last story and I had to tell someone. I’m telling you.
In a few weeks, I should have the cover ready to share. I’m currently leaning toward a wraparound cover that functions as a legacy cover — something emblematic of my detectives. Maybe the stained glass of their office door. Maybe a business card. Not sure yet.
