Editing Project Update 7/20/26

I got the author’s copy of the new Goodnight Irene paperback. The text is far too thin and the image far too dark, especially the back.

This happens a lot. The look of a digital image is brighter than that of a physical copy. I still remember the first proof of The Opening Night Murders when I couldn’t even see the razor.

I reworked the text and brightened it significantly. I might have to go a little further, but not too much. I like the feel of this cover. I loved the smaller size and the formatting looks better.

I’ll wait to print another proof copy when I’m ready to get a proof of TONM. There’s no rush and I may as well save money on shipping.

Speaking of my second book, I started editing the first chapter. This was a busy weekend, so I didn’t get far. I did, however, manage to outline some prospective changes for each chapter. When I get more time, things should run smoother.

As for the upcoming anthology, the cover is finished. Check it out:

That’s all to report for now. I will have a review coming soon. I waited months for a book to be delivered. It never arrived. I bought it on Kindle and then my Kindle cord crapped out. I ordered a new cord, but it might not even work. I might have to get a new Kindle. It’s a mess. I’ll get it sorted.

Take care.
