  1. Thanks for the heads-up. I was searching my local kindle store for news of its release, but couldn’t find the information I wanted. I’m halfway through ‘Goodnight Irene’ – and so I’m looking forward to the unleashing of the Vampire!

      1. Yes of course… 🤓✨

…NOT. Lasciva’s 37 million cells are just about only breaking down as I read! 😄

  2. Can’t wait. I will be buying this the instant it is available. Your first two books were objectively excellent and yet for some reason not books I would re-read, I think I’d mostly put that down to the gloomy and depressing vibe associated with a detective past his prime, it seemed a very odd choice to start one’s career with.

I loved the introduction/summary (many blogs earlier) of this one, and even if I didn’t know the writer I would buy it on the strength of that alone, if the book even somewhat lives up to what is described there it would be one of my all-time favorites. I’m looking forward to seeing Williams and Manory in better times.

    1. Thank you for your kind words! Re: odd choice — Yes, I think the sunny disposition and infallible brilliance of the classical GAD sleuth don’t always line up with my sensibilities. Luckily, there’s always the past.
